Our Founding

Lou’s Letterpress was launched in 2013 by designer Lauren ‘Lou’ Skayhan. As a correspondence enthusiast, Lou first fell in love with letterpress at a printing workshop. Determined to master the art of printing on these antique machines, she immersed herself in printing texts and spent countless hours of hands-on experience with established printers. The launch of Lou’s Letterpress followed shortly after with a focus on classic, timeless design. Our life on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland imparts a nautical influence as well.

 

Our Quality

At Lou’s Letterpress, we use luxurious 100% cotton paper that is tree-free and uses upcycled cotton. The paper has a wonderful texture that perfectly complements the tactile nature of letterpress printing. Each piece of paper is hand printed one at a time on an antique printing press and is certain to make a lasting impression on its recipient.
